An upcoming Free State property auction is already breaking records.

It's hammer time for villas, an oasis and other exotic properties.

A massive property auction, reportedly the biggest ever in central South Africa, will be held at the Windmill Casino in Bloemfontein.

"We always have passion for our auctions. It's an essential part of our approach to business," said Franz Bobbert, who is director of Aucor's branch in Bloemfontein.

"This auction is particularly special in that our region has never seen so many properties going on auction at the same time.

"What's more is that all these properties hold excellent investment potential."

One lot is a luxury family home in Waverley.

This palm-fronted Free State oasis consists of five storeys made more accessible by a lift.

Vermeulen Gas and Steel pioneer Jan Vermeulen previously owned the home.

Some other incredible properties include development land in Jeffrey's Bay, a smart and exotic thatch roof home in Bloemfontein, holiday villas in St Francis Bay, several shopping centres, and a restaurant and pub called the Workshop.

The auction starts at 10.30am today at the Windmill Casino.

A 10percent deposit on all successful bids is immediately payable.

Properties can be viewed by arrangement.
