Afro-jazz musician Jabu Khanyile married his second wife Khululiwe Sithole two days before he died.

Khanyile died in his sleep yesterday after battling prostate cancer and sugar diabetes for months.

Khanyile and Sithole lived together for 18 years before they got married.

A source said that a Home Affairs official went to marry the couple at their Naturena, Johannesburg, home on Thursday.

They were scheduled to wed two weeks ago, but because of Khanyile's failing health the wedding had to be postponed.

"Sithole had been pushing Khanyile to make their marriage official. He could barely walk at the time, but his wife insisted the wedding happen," said the source

A family spokesman, Zolani Mkiva, said: "It was just formality As far as I know they were married in customary law.

" I would suggest that you not sensationalise this, especially when the family is going through this difficult time."
