Zolisa Xaluva has joined the ever-growing list of Generations stars who have left the show.

Xaluva, who plays Jason, will no longer be seen on Generations from January.

"It is true that I have already left Generations and I shot my last scenes last month, but the character will still appear until January," said Xaluva, who also features in the award-winning drama series Tsha-Tsha.

He attributes some of the problems in the soapie to a lack of continuation in the storyline of other characters.

Jason is a creative genius in the world of advertising and he is in love with motor bikes. He also loves Cleo, played by Linda Sokhulu.

But recently he has been accused of raping her and Jason is trying hard to clear his name.

However, no one is convinced that he didn't rape her, and even his colleagues at Ezweni are shunning him.

Xaluva joined Generations in April last year.

Elsje Stark, the associate producer, confirmed Xaluva's departure. "Zolisa was part of a story arch that unfortunately ended," she said yesterday.

Xaluva said: "I appreciate the confidence shown by the producers in me and it's a great feeling to be part of the soapie. I wish them the best of luck in their quest to make Generations a success story."

Another actor who left the soapie recently is Rapulana Seiphemo, who played the powerful Tau Mogale in the show.

Others who left include Refiloe Seseane (Dudu Kunene), Linda Sokhulu (Cleo) and the young Dineo Nchabeleng (Angela).
