To many, Eddie Maluleke was a rising star who would make it big in the legal industry.

News of his death spread like wildfire in Polokwane, Limpopo, early this week.

According to reports, Maluleke, who was based in Cape Town, visited his home in Seshego last weekend.

Later he and a friend drove to a church service in Giyani.

His family yesterday said they had been informed that Maluleke collapsed in a friend's car and was rushed to Kgapane Hospital, where he died on arrival.

Maluleke was born on November 28 1973.

He obtained his LLB degree from the University of Limpopo, Turfloop campus, in 1998.

He then joined the law clinic of the university as a coordinator.

Later he joined the constitutional court as a researcher for Judge Richard Goldstone.

He enrolled with the University of the Witwatersrand to pursue constitutional law studies.

Because of his exceptional knowledge, Maluleke was asked to provide analysis on matters pertaining to the constitution on TV and radio.

He is survived by his wife and two children, and by his mother, brother and three sisters.

He will be buried on Sunday at the old Seshego Cemetery after a service at his home: 1597, Zone 3, Seshego, starting at 6.30am.
