Khayalethu Mabandla's letter "DA tries to cash in on Zuma bill" on Monday is correct when it refers to DA leader Tony Leon as a "law-abiding and a non-racist" citizen. Sadly, that is the only fact he got right.
It is well-documented that the state covers the legal fees of its officials if they are involved in legal action that flows from their official duties. Wouter Basson was prosecuted for that and the state funded his defence.
Can it be said that the crimes Jacob Zuma was accused of - corruption and rape - could have been linked to his official duties ?
