Something for everyone, writes Zenoyise Madikwa

When travelling to the Fish River Sun, a delightful resort hotel sandwiched between Port Elizabeth and East London in the Eastern Cape, I was greeted by waving thorn trees and shrubs that compete for the honour of being the best view in the landscape.

When travelling to the Fish River Sun, a delightful resort hotel sandwiched between Port Elizabeth and East London in the Eastern Cape, I was greeted by waving thorn trees and shrubs that compete for the honour of being the best view in the landscape.

The beautiful, lush vegetation, and the hills that whistled from the distance, escorted me to the hotel that stands sentinel overlooking the Indian Ocean.

After an hour of driving through the ever-changing scenery I finally arrived.

Welcome to Fish River Sun, screamed a board. The warm welcome was later repeated by the hosts who ushered me to their inner courts.

The moment I stepped out of the car a host came to help me with my luggage. Workers in this hotel have a servant's heart. They go out of their way to ensure guests' happiness and enjoyment of the hotel.

The hotel's neat rooms didn't offer only shelter but a homely and warm feeling. As I looked out of my hotel window my eyes were charmed by a breathtaking expanse of the Indian Ocean, about 1,2km away from the hotel. Only the hotel guests have access to this beautiful beach.

Dinner time at the Fish River Sun is an event. My palate was titillated with delicious dishes served with a smile.

During my stay I visited the body and skin clinic for beauty treatments, including a pedicure, manicure, a facial and a massage. The prices are extremely reasonable compared with what we pay in Jozi.

If you are looking for a peaceful holiday at a reasonable price try this hotel.
