Maritzburg United believe they have turned the corner and that their away win over Benoni Premier United has sparked the team.

They host SuperSport United in a Castle Premiership game at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg tomorrow (8pm kick- off).

The Maritzburg side's captain, Ivan Winstanley believes they are now one of the teams to beat.

"We're going to turn Harry Gwala Stadium into our slaughter- house. Our win against Premier United has motivated us and we're all looking forward to collecting the full points at home," he said.

The home side is a new team with young players and, though they started the league on a sour note, they are gradually gaining momentum.

Pretoria's SuperSport, fresh from their convincing 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates, need to go for broke against their opponents. They are a good side with character and a will to win.

Though they lost to Kaizer Chiefs in the SAA Supa 8 final, they still believe they will be among the title contenders at the end of the season.

SuperSport's captain Ricardo Katza said their major aim was to win the league championship this season: "We've never won the league before and we've got a team good enough to see us lifting that coveted trophy."
