Limpopo will be treated to a karate feast when the Shin Kyokushinkai-kan Karate Championship takes place at the University of Venda on Saturday.

Shihan Isaac "The African Tiger" Mashinini said they are expecting all their affiliates in the country to attend.

"The tournament is not open to everyone but to those who reached the quarterfinals in the national championships held for the past three years,'' said Mashinini.

The tournament has been divided into the men's under-60kg, under-70kg and open categories, and women's under-60kg and open sections.

Mashinini said some of the experienced fighters who will take part in the championships include senseis Lucky Hlophe from Gauteng, and Edward Matjila and Sam Rampai from North West.

National under-65kg championship Seun Chauke is expected to give the likes Hlophe and Matjila a torrid time in the open weight category.

"I urge the community of Limpopo to come and witness action from some of the great combatants,'' said Mashinini.
