Iko Mash, who was Lebo Mathosa's stylist, regarded her "as a friend and a sister".
Mash found it hard to control his emotions when he spoke about hearing the news of her death this week.
"I'm devastated. In fact, the whole country is shattered. I don't have words to describe this loss," he said.
Yesterday, he relived the last moments he shared with her.
" We were together on Friday and I wanted to tell her about my new project. We went to her house where she cooked noodles with chicken and we washed it down with some wine. She was in a cheerful mood.
"I was worried about telling her I was going to release a CD, but strangely enough, she was unperturbed. By her reaction to the news I felt she gave me her blessing."
Mash also revealed that they had planned to go to Durban on Friday where, ironically, they had been invited to be part of the province's road awareness campaign.
