This is the young man simply known as Nhlanhla - the last person to see Lebo Mathosa alive.

Death separated them in the wee hours of Monday when Lebo's Toyota Prado, which Nhlanhla was driving, slammed into a tree near Germiston.

Nhlanhla has been spirited away, traumatised and unable to face the world after the celebrated songbird lost her life.

Sources told Sowetan that the 20-year-old Nhlanhla has been to see a psychologist and refuses to speak to anyone. It appears his minders have issued a blanket ban on his interaction with the media.

"He is still in shock and not ready to face the world, not at all," our source disclosed yesterday.

Relatively unknown, but someone who quietly moved from function to function, Nhlanhla was forever hanging out with artists.

The traumatised young man was reportedly taken in for questioning before being treated for shock in hospital and released.

Friends later took him for counselling because he was justifiably traumatised by what had happened.

At the time of going to press, Nhlanhla was still refusing to talk to the media.

The police say Nhlanhla was sober, but they did not test the alcohol level in his blood. He had been at Yfm's Bondo Ntuli's party with the pop diva before the tragic accident.
