It took a 250-kilometre drive for an Austrian mother to notice that she had left her 11-year-old daughter behind.
The woman was on her way back from holiday when she stopped at a service station near the Hungarian capital.
Her daughter went to the restroom while she waited in the car and when she a car door being closed shut, she believed that the girl was back in the rear seat.
It was only after arriving in Vienna, some 250 kilometres away that the mother noticed her child was missing. By the time she contacted police, a man had already found the girl and called Austrian authorities. The girl was reunited with her parents near Budapest later in the day.
Prosecutors are investigating whether to charge the woman with child neglect.
