Malaysian police have intensified operations to locate a 12-year-old Dutch boy who was seized in the Malaysian capital last week, a police officer said.
Nashrik Mohamad said several police teams have been dispatched in an effort to locate and recover Nayati Shamelin Moodliar, who was seized by two suspects in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
"We have teams in the field right now to search for the missing boy," he told dpa, but did not give details.
Nayati was walking to Mont' Kiara International School near his home when two unidentified men dragged him to waiting a black car.
The victim's parents were originally from South Africa, but are Dutch citizens.
Nayati's friends and local residents distributed flyers and posters of the boy in a bid to help locate him.
A Facebook account was set up by the victim's family and friends to gather more information about the missing boy.
