It's very difficult to keep track of news amongst hundreds of headlines a day. So we will pick out the top 5 trending news a week in highlights for you to follow. (1-5 Sep 2014)

1. Naked pictures emerge after mass celebrity hacking

Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Mary Kate Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst and Kaley Cuoco are amongst 60+ stars of the alleged "master list" who have been victims of the latest cellphone hack. Their naked pictures are the talk of the social media town, after their cellphones have been hacked into.

Celebrity PR have their hands full this morning trying to douse the fire, claiming that the pictures are not real.  Watch this space..

 

2. Ebola reaches Senegal

WHO announced that a case of the Ebola virus disease (EVD) was detected in Senegal on 29 August 2014.

WHO has received details of the emergency investigation immediately launched by the Government. Testing and confirmation of Ebola were undertaken by a laboratory at the Institut Pasteur in Dakar.

The case is a 21-year-old male native of Guinea, who arrived in Dakar, by road, on 20 August and stayed with relatives at a home in the outskirts of the city.  READ MORE

 

3. SADC leaders to meet over Lesotho unrest

On Saturday, Thabane told the BBC he had fled for his life across the border to South Africa, accusing the military of seizing power in a coup and leaving the country in flux.

"I have been removed from control not by the people but by the armed forces, and that is illegal".  READ MORE

 

4. Minister Malusi Gigaba gets married.

The wedding took place at Mandeni township in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday.

The traditional ceremony finalised a two-day wedding extravaganza that saw the couple exchange vows at the Durban Botanic Gardens on Saturday. The glittering white wedding was attended by top politicians and celebrities. SEE PICTURES

5. Africa talks jihad threat

Amid fears Islamic State fighters are inspiring jihadists outside the Middle East, analysts warn it has emboldened extremists in Africa operating in voids left by weak governments and rampant corruption. READ MORE
