By not keeping quiet, child rapist got jailed

He raped sisters aged 11 and 12

The Graaff Reinet Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a man to two life terms for raping two children, Eastern Cape police said.

Denzel Sampie was sentenced for raping sisters aged 11 and 12 in 2012, said Lieutenant Livhuhani Muda.

“He threatened the young victims with a knife and took them to a secluded place where he took turns sexually assaulting them,” she said in a statement.

“It is alleged that he forced the youngest victim to first watch as he raped the elder sister.

“After the assault Sampie told the victims to go home and warned them not to inform anyone about what happened or he will kill them.”

The girls told their parents and the police were alerted.

Sampie was arrested days after the rapes.
