A giant statue of former president Nelson Mandela unveiled in Bloemfontein should serve as a symbol of reconciliation and tolerance, ANC president Jacob Zuma said.

Practice what you preach. It is pointless telling us about Mandela's principles - when in practice it is being totally ignored by the ANC.

Mandela is not a saint, he sold the black lives & souls to the highest bidder. It is said that if you keep repeating the same thing over and over again, even if it is a lie, people will eventually believe that. Now, you can erect all his statues all over the country and even at your compound, he will remain a sell out.

previouse apartheid state used Mandela as a shield because they wer aware that majority of ANC ppl at those times admired each others and Mandela was the scape boat for those white racist ppl at those times cause they knew that anything MANDELA says will be respected and heared irrespective of any situation weda ppl like Steve Biko or Onkgopotse Tiro wer brutally killed meant nothing and im suprised that Mandela never touched the issue of land wen he was released, SO other than 27 years Mandela stayed in jail wat excatly did he do for the SAns?cause brave ppl passed away fighting fo freedom we enjoy today including Mandela himself is enjoying the freedom that wer fought by those freedom fighters who are no longer with us..Mandela is a traitor and he enjoy the attention he dont deserve. and the issue of armsdeal, mandela foundation benefited including the wife too.but nothing is been said about that.why? MANDELA was released bcos previouse state was in the spot light after the issue of june 16 and the world was paying attention to this country due to those killings and aparthied state knew that Mandela wont be that effective wen they release him bcos of AGE too.

my brother this things we need to discuss about them cause it seems that our government is so selective with its honourings cause it dont treat ppl equaly.in wat specific area of my rail am i out? the issue of armsdeal started in Mandela's term thats a fact,,,Mandela foundation and Graca Foundation benefited in the armsdeal and that also a fact..Mandela talked less about land Issue instead of him being tough he was soft and neglected wat the freedom charter stipulated regarding land etc.So according to you and your analysis wat excatly did Mandela DO fo SAns? bottom Line is Mandela STAYED his life in jail and wen he was out he done so little.

You are so right. I remember when he came out of prison in 1990, to please his masters (NATS), he branded us comrades at the time 'criminals', for dealing with jackrolling murderers, counter-revolutionaries and izimpimpi. After everything we did to get him out of prison!! I lost all respect for him that day. He was happy when the IFP thugs, BOSS and military intelligence were murdering our people, no wonder he called for 'Truth & Recociliation mickey mouse s**t, to get all those thugs scot-free.

Steven Bantubonke Biko is a true Son of Motherland. If he lived, most South Africans would be well educated, manage the country and kept all our resources (from reptiles like Ramaphosa), people would be living in decent accomodation, he would have reclaimed the 87% of expropriated land (1913 land act), and rebuilt the Drommedaris and shipped out all racists. Now that was a true son of Africa, not the jokes that are ANC (so-called) leaders, who claimed empty victory whilst in exile scratching their nuts whilst we held the fort with our blood, sweat and tears inside the country

Great statue! I .just hope we never ever have to have a JZ statue anywhere in this country!
We don't want statues with penis.es hanging out.
JZ doesn't deserve a statue. Ever. He's a liar and a crook who is addicted to sex.

Still amazes me how he is president?! Do his supporters condone his cheating on his wives numerous times, fathering kids with Iron Dukes kid, sleeping with prostitutes ans swindling money and doing dodgy deals.
Obviously, with a leader like this...if he can do it so can we, so keep him in.
Dangerous.
