Mambaaai, WordofGod and PleaseGetReal, even worse is that here used to be laws about where one is allowed to build. Now I read elsewhere here about no laws for building against railway tracks. Those laws used to exist. What happened to them? Did the ANC just think that those were laws to oppress the black man, and scrapped them all, or what?. I don't know of any of you guys even remember the law of not walking on a highway. If the cops found you there, they'd load you in the van and drop you at the next exit, kilometres away from where you want to be. Those laws were there to protect citizens, now they're non existant.

For once I agree with you. Some of the squatting problems are created by non SAns. Unfortunately Zims speak the same language spoken here and answer to the same names and surnames of SAns. Making them very difficult to distinguish when it comes to housing allocations, especially since homeaffairs also caused confussions in giving them SA IDs 'fraudulantly'. But this area cannot have permanent housing. I know that most of the legal residents from here were moved to the hostel nearby.

you all missing the point, how big is SA? its not an island. people should just take the land and build their houses where its suitable. No matter who you vote for, its not the govt that does the job, its the people. 18 years of listening to lies and experiencing corruption should be enough of a wake-up call. People should take over the country and expand. Best example was the United States after the war of independence. people moved all over the country and secured pieces of lands and built their homesteads (I know the American Indians did not approve). three quarters of SA is empty, yet 4000 people live in 3000sq/m of land as if there is a shortage. We need a revolution and no more land reforms. South Africa belongs to all who live in it, that is in our constitution. its time to take over the land

When the ecosystem is completely screwed up because they built on a wetland, that will be the governments fault. When the fools decide to pop a squat on an old uranium mine and their kids all glow in the dark and have webbed feet, it will still be the governments fault. There are very good reasons why they do environmental studies BEFORE allowing building to happen
