Policy decisions made by the ANC during its national conference in Mangaung can prevent the country's economy from declining, Business Unity SA (Busa) said.
I remember Susan Shabangu stating that nationalisation as a topic was 'off the table'. So Mantashe is clearly in conflict with the minister who runs that relevant department. Report Abuse

The irony for the ANC is that as long as nationalisation, land redistribution, the union and government alliance, corruption, affirmative action and cadre deployment remain as ANC policy in their current form there is unlikely to be investment in SA and the economy will continue its decline.
Economic development needs true economic freedom not the brand advocated by the ANC and their outcast, Malema. Social engineering policies to steer people's economic and political choices have never had the desired effect - not under communism, fascism, apartheid or any other ...ism, yet the ANC persists in the belief that legislation can change people's behaviours, cultures and beliefs. Instead of compliance, as we are already seeing, people become more dogmatic and entrenched in oppositional behaviour when legislation that is perceived to be contrary to one's interests dictates their behaviour.
As I said, communism, fascism and apartheid all failed for these reasons and the ANC will fail to because it cannot build confidence under conditions where those with the means to production feel insecure by making investments, whether they are South African's or foreign investors.
To the ANC I say, set SA free, focus on nation building, true economic freedom and genuine non-racialism and then you will see how the diverse people of this wonderful country come together, each contributing what s/he can to develop the country. As long as you persue your "old freedom fighter" mentality and policies you will always divide us as a nation and that is the crime against humanity that you perpetuate, because it is keeping many who deserve better in the gutter of apartheid. Everything is going to be normal if all of us who are going to Mmangaung we use our common sense and do what right for this country and retain Zuma, I hope we will not be confused like the folks from Limpopo who want to turn our beautifull country into anarchy Report Abuse

"Crucial issues, such as the nationalisation of mines and land redistribution, would be debated."Until you SCRAP these concepts, investor confidence will not improve.
