Tough times. Its funny how the price of used cars seems never to follow a specific pattern. Could it be because of the mismatch in information between the market participants? Report Abuse

I am not surprised, new cars are more expensive in SA than un the UK. for example, Jarguar XJ is R300 000 more expensive in SA than here. I bought a 2010 Bentley Continental GTC for R400 000 less than in SA. Dealers are criminals, the govt need to review car prices in SA Report Abuse
In South Africa we get robbed on what we pay for used vehicles! It's daylight robbery. We should be paying 60% of what we currently pay. The public protector must investigate this because we're being ripped off and someones having a laugh Report Abuse

Doctors247, shipping cost depends on the size of the car. If you get a good clearing agent in SA and a container you are sorted. For a standard car from Ireland to SA you will be looking to spend overall R15-17000 incl clearing agent fee. Report Abuse

Everything is overpriced is SA thanks to our government. A middle class earner receives about a third of his annual parkage. A toyota Tazz is still over R50 000 and you ask yourself y? isnt because blacks buys it a lot for its reliability or just greedy of dealers. A BMW 3 series is assembled or manufuctured in Rosslyn and exported in the whole world but it is a litle expensive it should be selling at a 30%less of its current trading value. Export duty my foot. BMW uses SA to strategically manufucture the car because of the countries cheap labour, readily available resources and export it to the rest of the world, ask yourself ? The 320i is still cheaper though what a nice entry durable car, hence it has populated the streets... Report Abuse
