Never bite the hand that feeds you. Zimbabwe used to be the "bread basket" of Sub-Saharan Africa. Most of the food exported to neighbouring countries came from zim. The local food prices were the lowest of all african countries. You could stuff your face for almost no money at all. After the landgrab, african farmers used the farms as a playground and only grew enough food for personal use and a little to sell at the local market. The Zanu people in zim shot themselves in the foot (or should I say stomach). Give the land back to the farmers and the government too for that matter and then suddenly you'll be in paradise again. Farming and government should be left to the grownups.

Year ago, America and England imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe because they said that blacks were invading white owned land.

Today in 2012, there is evidence that whites own land in Zimbabwe - so the basis of the US and UK sanctions against Zimbabwe is what exactly ?

Actually, many years ago the world imposed sanctions on Rhodesia because it wouldn't allow black people to vote. The issue is not the countries, it is the sanctity of ownership.

The Save Valley Conservancy was set up during the building of the Kariba Dam. It isn't about anything other than animal conservation.

Eish! The old mad man is at it again! The only thing keeping Zimbanana going is tourism - the Nature Reserves and Game Parks should not be allowed to be "raped" by these idiots any further! It is time the rest of the world do something to permanently remove this senile old fart from society! " Black Empowerment????

Out of all the land available in Zimbabwe, they always target the tiny pieces owned by white people. Is this perhaps because the local Zimbabweans have no idea on how to make money from land on their own and have to in fact steal someone else's success?

Ironically, three quarters of the owners of this conservation are black. Half of them are not only black but also the villagers in the area. It isn't even about the colour of the people owning the land, it is about pure greed.

I like uncle Bob. He is my second role model after Mandela. I will always praise his bravery and honesty. Although the taking of land was painful, but the majority of sane people think it was necessary. Well, we criticise the way the land was taken, but it was necessary.

I think majority of INSANE people would agree with you.

Destroying Zimbabwe was definitely not necessary.............only the work of a desperate greedy old man and associated political party would bring down their own country in the name of keeping the vote and power. Mugabe will die in the next decade along with his cronies..........what about the path of destruction caused by his greed fed anger? That will remain on the shoulders of the rest of Zimbabwe for centuries to come.

eliminating poverty was necessary but that does not mean you destroy the country. Land is not the end all of all things. Only a few people can profit off the land..........what about the majority? A government needs to get creative and test many different ways to eliminate poverty. Mugabe's land reform was nothing more than a response to Britain rejecting him and his political party as competent leaders to sustain Zimbabwe.

Everyone acknowledged that land reform was a given, even in 1980 at Lancaster. Money was given for land reform by Britain to Mugabe, but he instead enriched the wrong people with it.

The sad part is, is that both Britain, China and Mugabe are all meddling in a geo political agenda for their own selfish gains well the biggest losers have been the Zimbabweans themselves, both black & white.

Britain must sink, Mugabe must die, the white farmers must be compensated, the black farmers taught to farm and peace will reign!

@DJWinner I can hardly believe you admire this man - he has destoyed his country and any semblance of democracy - you ever heard about his youth militias, the food for votes schemes, the arrest and torture of political opponents, the stealing of the election by electoral fraud ? ? Can you not see that his land grab policies was intendde to shore up his waning support when he stood to lose against MDC ? Are you aware of the total crash of the Zim dollar, the agricultural industry, the hyper inflation which left his country in financial ruin - so much so that they actuall have to use currencies of other countries ? Don't you get the embarrasment of that - it means you have failed as a country.

Land restituiton cannot and need not be done ion this way - it is the way of people with no respect for the rule of law. My friend, once the rule of law breaks down, it is tickets.
