The Unions have got a constitutional mandate to avoid embarrassment which they had caused our poor workers on this issue, this amount to total Union failure and as such I expect Comrade Baleni to resign as he had shamed our workers to the core level of irritation and yet he expect Zuma to make him a Minister after Mangaung!?.
For how long are we going to tolerate running our Government and institution through deliberate hypocritical purpose and deceive?
We need to take workers serious, Unions are not supposed to be part of Government administration, nobody can afford to serve two masters simultaneously! If we take our workers serious, than we have to promulgate a legislation that will demarcate the Government responsibility and Unions mandate in public service.
Why do we have to let the Government to rule the Unions by radar and gunpoint in exchange of fat Government posts and tenders while our workers who are paying hefty Union fees always get stuck at the bottom in destitute while the Union leaders ascend to the top Government throne!?
The government has its shortcomings, but the core aim is to learn from all those mistakes and constructively critique them and take lessons in shaping the society that we all envisage.

Senyonyobi : deterriorate furtrher means worsen in plain English. 1Tsotsi , it looks like you have nothing to say. The organisers of the wild cat strike must be arrested and tried for misleading the workers. The nyanga who deceived these workers by telling them that they will be invicible must also be charged becasues the workers really believed that they are invicible.

And exactly everytime there is a serious issue the president leaves the country. He must take cue from Obama. Last months shooting on the opening night of Darknight made Obama cancell all his engagements and mourn with the nation. Issueing a statement, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ag eff off Jakes. You have an extraordinary talent for being "out of the country" when anything vaguely serious goes down. No suggestion of possibly cutting short or cancelling your jaunt to Mozambique. Your percieved profile is far too important to be upset by little things like the death of 30 plus miners. Go and play with your spear, man.

This is a sad day of South Africa. Why are Jacob Zuma and Nathi Mthethwa's police murdering our people. Their police have given us South Africa's first post-1994 massacre. This is not right. Jacob Zuma and Nathi Mthethwa's police should stop murdering our people.

African’s lives will always be cheap as long as they behave irresponsibly. There is an attitude amongst Africans that your actions have no repercussions.

- The miners behaved irresponsibly. You Can’t demand a 300% wage increase it simply does not work. The mine would no longer be profitable and shut down. Then what? You don’t even get your R4000. If you don’t like the R4000 you can quit anytime. Secondly you can’t strike using violence.

- The unions and the union bosses behaved irresponsible. They can be blamed for this bloodshed. They incited the violence and are more guilty than the cops that pulled the trigger. I wonder if they really care about the dead?

- The current government took no leadership on this matter. There had already been scenes of violence. Where was the ANC leadership? They allowed a powder keg to build up. Our president has no backbone.

- Us as the people who voted for a weak man who we knew was corrupt. Us the people who supported a rabid hyena like Malema who stirred up some anti mining sentiment. We need to learn that it is important to vote responsibly. I think many of us supported Malema/Zuma just to p1ss of the wh1teys. How can we chuck away our votes on the undeserving?

The police getting the blame is ridiculous. All of the above

JZ must go after Mangaung... JZ has created a divisive leadership in government. This issue of mines has been going on since last year but the government turned a deaf ear because the Zuma empire is ploughing big profits from mines. Our leaders in government have acquired debt riddled shares for being in mining and there is no way they can act to assist workers because all they think about is how they will be able to finance their debts.

My List
1. Motlanthe - president
2. Lindiwe Sisulu or Max Sisulu deputy president
3. Thandi Modise - Chair
4. Jeff Radebe - Secretary
5. Mbalula - Deputy secretary
6. Matthew Phosa - Treasurer

We need leadership and JZ failed to provide that, they went for the administration of Limpopo but failed to deliver , they took over the administration of education in Eastern Cape but failed to deliver, they to over the administration of roads in North West but failed to deliver. JZ is crowding himself with people who want to see the status quo maintained and the country going down

This is the result when you have a so called goverment in bed with a union like COSATU.
The one is having drinks with the other when the workers are the ones paying taxes and union dues!
What do the workers expect when they arrive with pangas and guns?
What does the police managers expect when they take just about annyone off the streets and "train" them and then give them guns?

We need a whole new goverment.
Look to the future and vote for a new goverment as soon as possible!!
