The models in question include all 5 and 6 Series models built from March 2003 to September 2010.

All previous generation BMW 6 Series Coupes, Convertibles and BMW M6 Coupes and BMW M6 Convertibles are included in the recall as well.

"Car owners will be notified in writing, requesting them to bring the vehicle to their various dealerships, where the repair will be done at no cost to the customer," BMW SA spokesman Guy Kilfoi said.

In certain cases the battery cable cover in the boot of these vehicles might be incorrectly mounted. This could result in an electrical system malfunction, the vehicle failing to start and, in very rare circumstances, the charring of the cables or fire.

BMW said it was not aware of any accidents or injury to persons as a result of this fault.

they are overpriced!, the new 335i cost 650k, 328i goes for 550k. we must boycot these overpricing.
i will be out of my mind to waste over half a million in those pieces of plastic and steel.

No offence but first you boycott for something that is a neccessity & that its perceived overprice directly affects the community & I do not see how that is relevant to BMW being over priced. In fact if you perceived it being pricey then that is a sign that you cannot afford.
