R5m business prize on offer - WITH VIDEO
The Big Break Legacy TV show starting in February offers the largest prize on local reality TV. We chat with one of the contestants about the business he hopes will win the R5 million investment..
More about the show:
A new reality series for entrepreneurs, called the Big Break Legacy TV Show, will soon hit South African TV screens.
Scientist-turned-entrepreneur Ezra Ndwandwe, who is behind the show, says the SA small business sector is structurally punitive to budding entrepreneurs, a factor which accounts for low levels of entrepreneurship in the country.
The show will feature 12 contestants, who will compete for a whopping R5 million investment prize.
The contestants have to prove their entrepreneurial flair through various business challenges, over a 13 episode season.
"We have to build an environment that says to entrepreneurs, 'It's OK to fail, but do it with purpose and resolve'," Ndwandwe said.
The Big Break Legacy will see contestants compete against each other's business ideas.
The show will air on February 2 2012 on SABC2.

but why must it be always a reqlity show, it limits the contestents to juts fuve or less. nagana feela if millions entered and five were on tv and the bussiness ideas of the five do not really teach the 999 995 anything they can use intheir venture or ideas. remember when tey did it on SABC 1? i used to watch but found that many left with unfisished stories because a funder/sponsor will do anything to get their brand on tv after the camer is off they return to being just what they were .... Etv also had it, i applied and they siad it would be for all, only to find they were actually looking for people whose business was already running for 3 years nogal!!Report Abuse
Conceptualised by Ezra Ndwandwe, pictured, the show is aimed at both existing ventures that need re-capitalisation for growth as well as high impact business ideas requiring start-up capital.
