VIVACIOUS TV presenter Masechaba Lekalake is the face of a new reality show, The Big Break Legacy, on SABC2 on Thursday evenings.

"This is a great challenge. My responsibility is to form the link among The Big Break Legacy's board - comprising businesswoman Wendy Luhabe, the show's innovator Ezra Ndwande, Business Report editor Elias Mnyandu, the contestants and the viewers.

"I am expected to use my personality in an informal way, breaking down the complexities surrounding entrepreneurship so that the ordinary man or woman in the street can understand it and enjoy it while learning how to start and run a business.

"I have also worked as a presenter on SABC Africa and was head-hunted to host a show dealing with entertainment news on the African continent. When e.tv's e.News was launched I was appointed senior current affairs news anchor until last year.

"Then I was head-hunted to present SABC1s youth development-oriented reality show, One Day Leader," she said.

The 28-year-old single mother of a three-year-old boy was born in Zambia, where her South African parents lived in exile. She was educated in Zambia, the US and South Africa.

Her father, Ben 'TNT" Lekalake, is a former boxing champion from Soweto and her mother is Promise Sibongile Khumalo.

After studying journalism video broadcasting production at Boston Media House, she joined Urban Brew, a production house, as scriptwriter, assistant director and producer.

One lucky contestant in TheBig Break Legacy's is due to walk away with R5-million.

It could be Bulelwa Nomlala, Graham Rowe, Paul Kim, Charles Hsuan, Sebenzile Khumalo, Mfundo Thango, Abongile Maqwazima, Bernadette Simon, Bongani Nkuna, Lebogang Khitsane, Meisie Nkosi or Sean Hide.
