Police have arrested three suspects in connection with a shootout between rival taxi associations in Johannesburg.

 Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said the shooting occurred early on Tuesday in Dube‚ Soweto.

 He said the shootout was linked to the NANDUWE and WATA taxi associations.

“I can confirm that there was a shootout and we have arrested three suspects in relation to this‚ on account of being in possession of illegal firearms‚” he said.
