President Jacob Zuma, Faith Mthambi, Mosebenzi Zwane, Des van Rooyen and Duduzane Zuma all belong in jail.

They have to be investigated and charged.

The exposé by the Sunday newspapers of e-mails between these executives and the Gupta family present sufficient evidence to show that the state has been captured.

The e-mail exchanges allow us to connect the dots as to how the Gupta family, Zuma and his son Duduzane have operated and controlled ministers.

Duduzane and the Guptas use politicians to defend and facilitate their looting.

In a normal, functioning democracy, Zuma, his son and the Guptas would have long been charged.

But when the looting started Zuma had already captured the security apparatuses such as the Hawks, the National Prosecuting Authority and the state security organs.

This ensured that a blind eye was turned to their conduct, and those who sought to expose them, such as SA Revenue Service officials, were removed and purged by 2014.

Pravin Gordhan and Mcebisi Jonas are the latest victims.

Zuma has also ensured that in the ANC he has cheerleaders who deflect attention from him and the Guptas and defend their actions.

ANC Youth League leader Collen Maine has been the Gupta family puppet, loyally defending them. He claims to celebrate their wealth because they have entered sectors that black people did not have access to.

The e-mails leaked yesterday reveal that what Maine has been saying was approved by the Gupta family and Duduzane.

The question to ask is, how much have all these people, including ministers, been paid by the Guptas? They are not being controlled for free.

When will they be honest and reveal how much of the country's assets are in the hands of the Guptas, Zuma and Duduzane?

Duduzane is effectively an unelected prime minister who has power over certain ministers and state-owned entities.

It is illegal for Duduzane and the Guptas to be privy to cabinet information.

Cabinet discussions are confidential and cannot be discussed with anyone who is not a member.

The exchange of e-mails exposes how the Gupta family have access to confidential cabinet information.

The e-mails further expose a plan to have Zuma and his family move to Dubai when he retires from office.

The Dubai link explains why some ministers, including Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba and his expensive wife Norma, are regular visitors to Dubai.

Zuma, together with Mthambi, Zwane and Van Rooyen, have violated their oath of office.

When Zuma was elected into power there were several allegations of corruption against him.

He was defended by many, including his family. His supporters used to say he was a man of the people and that he would be pro-poor.

Any self-respecting person would have refused to be elected given the seriousness of the charges he faced at the time. Zuma is nothing but a president who has sold the country to the Guptas.

The recommendations by the public protector in the state capture report, saying the chief justice should establish a judicial commission to investigate the issue, should be supported and realised.

Some leaders in the ANC recently came out in support of the recommendation. If not implemented, Zuma, his son, and the Gupta family will get away with state capture.

It stands to reason that the ANC will lose the 2019 national elections if it does not disassociate itself from Zuma and his corrupt ministers.
