Controversial ANC heavyweight Tony Yengeni has been found guilty in the Cape Town Community Court of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Nicknamed the “Gucci socialist’’ for his expensive taste‚ Yengeni was arrested in 2013 for driving his Maserati GranCabrio while under the influence of alcohol in Green Point.

During the trial‚ he claimed he only had a few sips of traditional beer that day.

At the time of his arrest‚ he did not have a front number plate.
