Must data really fall? Maybe not‚ says FMF

A “proper analysis” needs to be done before calls for #DataMustFall are made‚ the Free Market Foundation(FMF) said on Tuesday.

“We all want cheap and free data‚ but we need to be suspicious of undisclosed agendas‚ gullible experts and an unconvincing industry response‚” said FMF’s Leon Louw speaking at a press briefing in Bryanston on Tuesday.

“We need to create a realistic informed climate of opinion.”

Louw said FMF does not believe in free data.

“We need to ask critical questions. Must data really fall‚ if so‚ by how much‚ at whose cost?” — TMG Digital
