Pretoria schoolgirls fighting against an injustice and should be supported, says Makhura

Gauteng premier David Makhura has urged politicians in the legislature to support learners at the Pretoria Girls High School who stood up against acts of racism.

Makhura said these young girls were fighting against an injustice.

“We are already witnessing young women taking the baton standing up against injustice.

“This week the girl learners from Pretoria High School for Girls challenged discrimination and drew to the attention of our nation acts of racism in one of the top performing schools in our province.

“These girl learners need the support of this house in their fight against injustice. We need to send a strong message out there that there is no place for racists in our country and in our schools‚” he said.
