Pietermaritzburg man wedges car more than metre high in tree

A Pietermaritzburg man had to be rescued from a tree on Saturday night after he crashed his car and got the vehicle wedged in the tree’s branches.

According to ER24 paramedics‚ the man‚ who was not named‚ lost control of his white Toyota on Mayor’s Walk Road.

“It is understood that the man lost control of the vehicle‚ hit a pole‚ crashed through a fence and landed the vehicle more than a metre high in a tree after it went airborne‚” said ER24 spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing.

The man was still in the vehicle when paramedics arrived.

“He was assisted and he came down the tree safely. Upon assessment it was found that he was‚ fortunately‚ uninjured‚” she said.
