Mayoral chain was not stolen, City of Tshwane never had one

City of Tshwane's Selby Bokaba has confirmed that there was never a chain to begin with because the city has no coat of arms.

"I suppose the previous administration didn't view that as a priority because the department of recreation, arts and culture were the ones that were suppose to make sure that there is one since 1996. But we are hoping that this new administration will correct that wrong," he told ENCA.

A visibly emotional Solly Msimanga was earlier today elected unopposed as the new Executive Mayor of City of Tshwane.

“We will ensure that service delivery is delivered to our people. We want to say to our people that they will no more suffering. No more will our people suffer under the hands of the ANC. We are calling you the residents of this city to come and help us‚” said Msimanga.

He urged Tshwane’s residents to join them and to work together.
