The bail application of the Thulsie twins — Brandon-Lee and Tony-Lee — has been postponed until Thursday.

Looking relaxed‚ the brothers appeared calm throughout their bail application proceedings on Tuesday morning.

The two face three counts of terrorism related activities which centre around their allegedly planning to attack US and Jewish institutions in South Africa.

They are also accused of twice attempting to join the Islamic State in Syria.

The bail proceedings ground to a halt after the accused’s lawyer‚ Annelene van den Heever argued before magistrate Pieter du Plessis that their detention was unlawful.

On Monday the Thulsies’ legal team brought an application before the Johannesburg High Court to have their detention declared illegal.

The state has until August 19 to respond to that application.

Du Plessis postponed the matter until Thursday at the State’s request after prosecutor Chris

MacAdam argued that he needed time to consult with police investigators.
