A venomous snake took shelter in a child’s bedroom in a home north of Durban‚ but has now been evicted.

Reaction Unit South Africa got a call at about 7.15pm on Thursday night from a resident in Everest Heights‚ Verulam‚ asking for help in removing a snake from their home.

“…The snake was seen in a bedroom by a child. The reaction officer searched the bedroom and found the snake in between boxes‚” RUSA said on Friday.

He identified the snake as a Mozambique Spitting Cobra.

“Due the snake containing highly toxic venom‚ the officer decided to contact professional snake catcher Jason Arnold‚ to assist in removing the reptile‚” RUSA said.

The snake‚ which measured just over a metre in length‚ was captured and safely removed from the home.
