'People at SABC are very excited, there is no revolt within the organisation': Motsoeneng

SABC Chief Operating Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng says there is no revolt within the organisation.

Motsoeneng made this comment during the announcement of a new Acting Group CEO James Aguma‚ following the resignation with immediate effect of Jimi Matthews.

“When one or two persons cough‚ it does not mean all of us have flu. People at SABC are very excited. There is no revolt within the organisation‚” Motsoeneng said

He said SABC employees knew that management and the board had done well for the organisation.

However‚ Motsoeneng warned that employees should adhere to the policy of the organisation.

He said if employees did not adhere‚ there were two ways for those employees.

“You move before we come to you.”

He also dismissed suggestions that the SABC had been censoring news.

“There is no censorship at the SABC. We said the role of editors is to edit. Sometimes they change your headlines. Don’t behave as if there are no problems in print media‚” Motsoeneng said.

Motsoeneng said he had worked very well with Matthews.

“I appointed him as (Group Executive) for news.”

Motsoeneng said it was up to individuals when they wanted to leave the organisation.
