Zoleka Mandela will spend the next 11 weeks undergoing gruelling six-hour chemotherapy sessions as her battle with breast cancer continues.

Taking to social media Zoleka shared a picture of herself hooked up to machines during her first session.

One thing is evident is that Zoleka remains determined to come out the winner in this battle.

After the gruelling session yesterday Zoleka is grateful that she felt well enough this morning to get her daughter ready for her first day at pre-school.

“So glad I wasn’t too sick from yesterday’s chemotherapy treatment‚ I was able to get everyone ready for their day and make breakfast! I think I’ll even attempt to cook tonight’s dinner‚” she said.

Zoleka who was first diagnosed with breast cancer almost five years ago was informed by doctors at the end of May that the cancer had returned.

She reportedly went under knife to remove the cancerous lump that was discovered in her breast and despite being scared Zoleka remains determined.

“I owe the success of my surgery to remove my cancerous tumour yesterday; to the support from my loved ones‚ my medical team and to each and every one of you for laying me in your prayers!‚” Zoleka said on social media at the time.
