According to police‚ on Friday night the SAPS Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team received a tip-off about drugs being made at a house in the Bluff area.
“A sting operation was conducted in a mansion which led the police to discover a laboratory which manufactured the dagga using hydroponic systems and stolen electricity from a municipality pole. Hydroponic dagga plants valued at about R100‚000 were confiscated for further examination by forensic expects‚” said spokesman Major Shooz Magudulela.
A 57-year-old man‚ who was also found in possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition‚ was arrested. He will appear in court on Monday facing illegal firearm charges‚ as well as charges of drug manufacturing and dealing.
