More than 300 disgruntled ANC members in the Dr WB Rubusana region of the Buffalo City Metro (BCM) in the Eastern Cape gathered at the Mdantsane Indoor Sport Centre on Thursday for a cadres forum.

Led by ANC leaders that were summoned before the ANC provincial disciplinary committee‚ the members presented a document on the state of the party in the region‚ province and the country.

ANC veterans‚ who have led the disgruntled group in numerous marches both to the regional and provincial ANC offices‚ presented the document lashing out against their warning that the party might not do well in the polls come the August 3 local government elections.

“The ANC here is in turmoil and we are approaching the local government elections in this situation. Today we have divisions in Cosatu‚ the SACP is weak and the biggest trade union Numsa is not part of the alliance‚” Joe Jordan said.

Part of the document‚ authored by five leaders of the group and presented to the enthusiastic members‚ reads: “We have found ourselves at a crossroads‚ politically and socially. In the province and in some instances nationally.”

Some of their grievances include the FNB ANC membership rigging‚ the Mandela funeral scandal and the recently convened elective list conference among others.

The Mandela funeral scandal involves fraud relating to money that was meant for memorial services and the funeral of the late former president Nelson Mandela‚ who died on December 5‚ 2013.

The membership rigging issue involves the alleged rigging of ANC membership forms by an employee of the Mdantsane branch of FNB‚ which were backdated for more than six months.
