Ten children were injured on Friday morning after a taxi and car collided in Northcliff‚ Johannesburg.

It is believed that the taxi had failed to stop at the intersection‚ causing the collision‚ according to paramedics.

The accident was at the Acacia and Ebony Road intersection.

The taxi was found lying on its side while the light motor vehicle was found on the side of the road‚ ER24 said.

“On assessment‚ paramedics found that the taxi had been carrying children‚ aged between 5 and 13‚ to school when the collision occurred.

“Paramedics assessed the children and found that all ten had sustained only minor injuries in the collision. Fortunately‚ no serious or fatal injuries were reported.”

Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to various hospitals for further treatment.

The driver of the light motor vehicle escaped without injury.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
