Dalwigo Ward‚ the man accused of murdering and raping Nita Manho in Bredasdorp on April 2‚ will return to court next month.

Ward‚ 19‚ appeared in the Bredasdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning where about 50 residents picketed. They want the bloodshed in the town to come to an end.

In the past three years there has been a tide of savagery in the town which has claimed the lives of Anene Booysen‚ Kayde Williams‚ Elda Jaftha and Xolelwa Vuma. Manho’s mutilated body was found near a shebeen. Her skull had been cracked open‚ clumps of hair had been ripped out‚ both wrists were cut and a t-shirt was wrapped around her neck and tied to a gate.

Local police station commander‚ Lieutenant Colonel Maree Louw‚ said Ward’s case had been postponed to May 10 for a bail application hearing.
