Matric 2015 by numbers

Pupils’ matric results will be announced on January 5 and the focus will be on the numbers – passes‚ failures‚ exemptions. In the meantime here are some other numbers to consider.

799 502: the largest number of matric pupils to register for the national senior certificate exams.

668 122: the number of full time candidates.

66 088: the number of “progress learners” (the policy of passing pupils who failed). This category made up 9% of all candidates.

Seven million: the number of scripts marked.

41 564: the number of people marking the scripts.

121: the number of marking centres around the country.
