Three woman implicated in selling a one-year-old child for R5 000 appeared briefly in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Monday.
They include the child's mother, Reginah Ndlovu, 25, an 18-year-old accomplice, Nomthandazo Nkuna, and a woman accused of buying the child, Nomasonto Khoza, 45. They were not asked to plead to charges of human trafficking and the case was postponed to Tuesday next week for the formal bail application.
They were arrested in Springs, Gauteng, last week by members of the Hawks police unit.
