Popular Mzansi Magic show Our Perfect Wedding has lost another major sponsor.

Vodacom's Head of Corporate Affairs, Tshepo Ramodibe, told Eyewitness News(EWN) that the company has stopped all sponsorship with immediate effect.

“I can confirm that up until Monday 30 November, we were as associate sponsor. But regrettably the episode that aired that Sunday was directly opposite to our values and what the brand stands for.”

Last week ABSA withdrew their sponsorship of the show after a controversial episode aired of a couple who met when the bride was 14 and the groom 28. The groom admitted he had been targeting young girls for sex and subsequently met her. The show is accused of condoning or promoting statutory rape.

The BCCSA received a complaint about the episode and it had been the subject of ire for a lot of the viewing audience.

OPW producers have since apologised for the episode. The BCCSA is investigating.
