“Simply Carol” will emcee and give a special tribute to former president Nelson Mandela in Canada on Saturday night.

The award-winning sports presenter‚ also known as Carol Tshabalala‚ is hosting the second Giants of Africa all-star benefit on the second anniversary of Madiba’s death.

“It’s such an honour to be a part of this event‚” said Tshabalala.

“It is a global event that is showcasing the best of Africa to the world.”

Giants of Africa is a non-profit organisation run by Toronto Raptors president and GM Masai Ujiri.

“Nelson Mandela knew that sport has the power to inspire and unite people in a way that little else does‚” said Ujiri.

“We are honoured and humbled to be able to celebrate his legacy on December 5 for the second consecutive year.”

Guests include soccer star sports star Didier Drogba and politician Tokyo Sexwale.

Funds raised go to the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Ujiri’s Giants of Africa charity.
