As if the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards were not enough, evangelist Zanele Mbokazi, pictured, has come up with new gospel awards, the Trumpet Africa Gospel Music Awards (Tagma).
The new project was introduced on Tuesday at the launch of the 8th Gospel Crown Awards that took place in Durban.
Tagma will be officially launched on September 11 in Lagos, Nigeria.
President of the World Gospel Powerhouse, Mbokazi said about the new awards: "The idea of the Tagmas was born out of the desire to develop and expose local gospel music to outside countries while recognising artists from Africa and in the diaspora."
Meanwhile, nominations for the 8th SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards are officially open and close on October 1. The awards take place on November 15.
