Alleged victims of rape, assault, kidnapping identify Khoza by scar

Alleged victims of Peter “Dashboy” Khoza’s have been able to identify him by a scar on his face as one of his distinctive features.

Khoza is on trial in the Johannesburg High Court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court‚ southeast of Johannesburg.

He is facing 152 charges including 46 of kidnapping‚ 29 of rape‚ 28 of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm‚ and 19 of compelling or causing a child to witness a sexual assault.

Khoza has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

He allegedly committed the offences between 2007 and 2013 in Tembisa and Olifantsfontein‚ northeast of Johannesburg. He targeted girls as young as nine years old.

His alleged victims‚ and those who were present when he allegedly committed the offences‚ have so far identified him in court by an alleged “bite mark” on his forehead‚ his uneven eyes and a broken tooth. The defence has disputed that Khoza bears these features.

An 18-year-old girl originally from Limpopo‚ on Thursday told the court that she could not forget Khoza’s face as she had walked with him for a while on the day of the incident.

A 13-year-old girl‚ who testified earlier‚ and whose friend was allegedly raped by Khoza in front of her in 2012‚ also identified him by a “bite mark” on his forehead.

The 18-year-old told the court that she met Khoza on her way to play at a park in Ivory Park in Tembisa in 2010.

She was 14 years old at the time.

“He [Khoza] told me that he was going to fetch his nephew and asked if I could accompany him and pretend to be the mother of the child because he would cry if his mother was not around‚” the girl said.

On the way‚ the girl said‚ Khoza was friendly and was joking with her.

She said Khoza’s phone rang and she heard him telling the person on the phone that they should give him five minutes and that he was on his way. By then‚ they were walking in the bush.

“We continued to walk and he told me to walk faster. As we were walking‚ he covered my nose and mouth and hit me with clenched fists. He instructed me not to make noise. He said if I did‚ he would kill me.”

She said Khoza took off her panties and raped her. At the time‚ they had reached Olifantsfontein.

“He instructed me to stand up and we walked again. He then instructed me to sit down. He opened my legs wide and inserted his penis into my vagina.”

Khoza’s lawyer Livingstone Nkuna said Khoza could not have been the one who raped her because he did not have a scar on his face.

The trial continues.
