A woman was killed when her vehicle rolled down an embankment on the R59 near the Verwoerd offramp in Meyerton.
Paramedics were called to the scene and found the car on its roof and on further inspection found the critically injured woman lying motionless next to the vehicle.
The woman believed to be in her 40s had sustained severe injuries to her head, chest and abdomen. Paramedics began their treatment to stabilise her vital signs.
After 30 minutes of advanced life support treatment, the patient unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
It is believed that the woman lost control of her car causing it to roll several times down the embankment.
