A number of vehicle collisions on the N12/N4 highway near Ogies and Witbank in Mpumalanga province on Monday have left at least two people dead and scores injured‚ emergency medical services said.
ER24 said its paramedics‚ along with other services‚ were attending to “multiple scenes spread across the highway”.
“At least three separate collisions involving multiple light motor vehicles‚ mini-bus taxis and trucks have left at least two people dead and scores injured. Paramedics currently describe the overall scene as chaotic‚” the emergency medical service said.
It said it was believed heavy mist in the area had contributed to the cause of the collisions.
“More information to follow as it becomes available‚” it added.
