Igesund recalls players out on loan

Supersport United are recalling almost all their players who were out on loan last season to report for the start of next month’s pre-season preparations‚ chief executive officer Stan Matthews said.

Coach Gordon Igesund wants to run his eye over what is available before any decision is made on their futures‚ he added.

“Remember Gordon did not start the season with us and so he hasn’t seen some of these players. He wants a chance to look at them first before we make any decision on their futures.”

The players will be expected to join up with the rest of the squad when they report back from their holidays on June 24.

Only one-time Bafana Bafana striker Dino Ndlovu and Sameehg Doutie‚ who the club sent out last season‚ are not expected back.

Ndlovu was actually loaned by SuperSport from his Israeli club Maccabi Haifa and then loaned onto Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Doutie is at the end of his contract and will not have his deal renewed by SuperSport. He had been at Bidvest Wits last season but is now a free agent. Wits are not expected to offer him a deal either.

Thabiso Nkoana (Ajax Cape Town)‚ Andile Fikizolo and Prince Nxumalo (Lamontville Golden Arrows)‚ Bennett Chenene (University of Pretoria)‚ Roscoe Pietersen (AmaZulu)‚ Boalefa Pule (BidVest Wits) and the pair of Stanley Muishond and Thabani Mthembu‚ who were at Vasco da Gama in the National First Division‚ are the other players went out last season who Igesund will now cast his eye over.
