KFC to investigate ‘pavement knife sharpening’ incident (VIDEO)

Chicken franchise KFC is embroiled in yet another scandal following the release of a video showing a staff member sharpening a knife on the pavement.

A video was posted by Ashrana Chanderanberg on a restaurant review page on Facebook with the caption: “This is what happens every morning @KFC Coastlands Umhlanga. We residence [sic] off Horizon view and Ridgeton Towers back of KFC Coastlands instead of awakening to the smell of KFC we awaken by this agonizing sounds of sharpening knives...”

As expected the video has gone viral, with many expressing disgust at the fast food franchise’s health and safety standards or lack thereof.

KFC Africa managing director Doug Smart has spoke News24 on the matter, confirming that an investigation had been launched into the incident.

“We are aware of the incident at our restaurant in Umhlanga in KwaZulu-Natal. We take our quality standards extremely seriously and are in the process of conducting a thorough investigation,” he said.
