Cyclist airlifted after being knocked off his bike

A 40-year-old man was in a critical condition on Tuesday morning after he was knocked off his bicycle at the intersection of Beyers Naude Drive and Malope Road in Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics‚ as well as other services‚ arrived on the scene and found the cyclist lying in the road with his bicycle lying a few metres away.

The light motor vehicle that had collided with the cyclist had parked off to the side of the road roughly 100m away.

Paramedics discovered that the patient had sustained a number of fractures and lay in a critical condition.

Once stabilised‚ the patient was airlifted by the ER24 helicopter to Johannesburg General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
