The US-based Harlem Globetrotters exhibition basketball squad are coming back to South African two decades ago after they came here to performe for the departed statesman’s birthday.
The Globetrotters have added three South African venues — Cape Town’s Grand West Arena on July 1 and 2; Durban’s ICC on July 3 and 5; and Johannesburg’s TicketPro Dome on July 9 and 10 —to their 2015 World Tour.
The Globetrotters — founded almost 90 years ago as the Savoy Big Five – have travelled to almost 120 countries with what has been described as “a unique blend of athleticism and theatre”.
